Client Daniel Hobbs is preparing for Tough Mudder between his Pastor duties

_IMG_0386Daniel is an Anglican Pastor, a dad and a husband. He gained a few kilos when he was studying at the Seminary, so when he arrived at his first parish he needed some motivation to work it off. He decided to start preparing for Tough Mudder 2016, and with the help of his Personal Trainer Danielle Baker in Springwood in the Logan Brisbane area, this has given him the motivation to train. His PT comes to his home, where he also trains with his wife Kylie and daughter Chloe.

Training and Fundraising

Training for Tough Mudder has also helped him work towards fundraising $10,000 for a new innovative provider of early learning and childcare for children with disabilities called ‘Ruby and Ollie’s’. If you would be able to help us reach our goal of raising $10,000, check out our promotional video and fundraising page.

Within 3 months Daniel has lost 9.5kg and can run 6km – he is well on his way to his ultimate goal of 15kg and 10km! Daniel is more of a book worm than a fitness junkie, so his favourite part of the session is when it’s finished. His favourite exercise is going for a run – it gives him time to think and burns fat at the same time.

Mental and physical health

Daniel’s work in the parish ministry is fairly sedentary and involves lots of yummy morning teas and shared meals, so his long term goal is to stay engaged in training a couple of times a week after completing Tough Mudder. He says it’s just as important for his mental health and effectiveness as a Minister as it is for his physical health.

Daniel says “Since I’ve lost some weight I also look much less like a chubby white Wiggle when I’m in my Pastoral robes.”
